Mark

Worth knowing

  • John Mark, whose mother's house in Jerusalem was a meeting place for the first believers (Acts 12:12). He travelled with Paul and Barnabas and later worked with Peter.
  • Papias, around A.D. 110, says Mark was Peter's interpreter and wrote down carefully what Peter remembered of the things Jesus said and did.
  • His is the shortest Gospel, and many think it was the first one written.

“Come after me, and I will make you into fishers for men.”
